Back then there was a sports bar called “Coaches” (still is), I have not been there for a long time since they went UFC, but that place is what I think of when I sing this song....but its actually inspired initially by a guy name Ted.

    So save it for Monday, its been a long week and a long day
    and its Friday maybe by Monday it will just go away

    Now me too got a woman, always on my mind when slaving away
    But sometimes I get home mean and tired and regret what I say
    So she says to me “we gotta talk about our compatibility
    I’ve been meaning to tell you something all week and its been grieving me”

    So I say
    Save it for Monday, its been a long week and a long day
    and its Friday maybe by Monday it will just go away

    So I get home there’s some bills and a letter from the Fed
    I throw them all away ’cause some words are colored in red
    Yeah that’s my philosophy, after a long week blow off bad news
